dinner?
A. We recommend that you create a new layout right before you merge your tables and groups hosts together. After merging groups together, you can assign table numbers and print out nametags. Creating a new layout allows you to revert back to your original layout, if needed.
golf outing?
A. Typically in a golf outing, guests are grouped together in foursomes. If there are some foursomes that are not full, you can merge groups together in a new layout to create the appropriate foursomes.
walk?
A. Create a layout right before you separate your walkers into groups or by sponsors. If your walkers are located in different areas, you could create a layout for each venue.
conference?
A. In a multi-day event such as a conference, each layout could represent a different day of that event! Or, if you are doing an event that has more than one part (i.e. a lunch and a dinner, or two or more workshops), one layout could be lunch and another layout could be dinner, or each layout could be a different workshop.
In either of these scenarios, you are always working with the same basic set of registrants. A layout simply allows you to separate your guests into different combinations of groups, in order to fit your specific needs!
A. Here are some benefits of layouts:
- Layouts allow you to create a backup of your registrants at a certain point in time.
- Layouts allow you to move guests around and merge groups together without committing to these new configurations.
- Layouts allow you to separate your guests into any imaginable combinations, while maintaining your "real" set of groups and hosts.
A. We definitely recommend that you create a new layout before merging groups together. Once you create a new layout, you can merge groups and change table hosts around in the new layout. If you ever desire to go back to your original configuration of groups and hosts, you can click on your original layout!
A. If you create a new layout without choosing any of the Advanced Options, the new layout will be created as an exact duplicate of the layout that is selected at the time of creation (the groups and Table Chart in your new layout will be copied from the selected layout).
A. You can create a new layout as often as you desire; you can have an unlimited number of layouts. You can think of a layout as a "backup" of your data; anytime you want to "save" a snapshot of your groups and hosts, you can create a layout.
A. You need to create a layout when you want to make changes to groups and hosts, but you still want to have the original layout to go back to.
A. Layouts are completely disposable. Once you have created a layout, it can be deleted. Keep in mind that registrations are not deleted (registrations are carried through all layouts).
A. Every time you register a new person to your event, he gets registered to all layouts. If the group to which he is registered does not exist in any of your layouts, your new guest will be placed in Unassigned.
A. YES. Parties are joined across all layouts
A. Creating a new layout does not affect your current registrations because ALL registrants are contained in ALL layouts. However, if some of your groups do not exist in a certain layout, some of your guests may be placed in Unassigned.Click on these links to read more about layouts:
